DIY Wednesday: Mint Clay Face Pack for Oily Acne-Prone Skin

Hi Everyone!

Today in DIY Wednesday I’m going to do Mint Clay face pack for oily acne-prone skin. Clay face pack is one of the best and well-known face packs for oily skin type in summers and Mint is very effective aromatic ingredient with anti-pruritic property for treating acne-prone skin. Mint clay face pack is an easy homemade pack which can be done in 5 minutes.



You will Need…
  • Multani Mitti- or you can go for French clay or choose your favorite
  • Fresh Mint leaves
  • Rose water




Why Mint for skin?

Mint is a well-known aromatic ingredient. Mint soothes and cleanses skin well and changes the skin’s condition.  Mint leaves have anti-pruritic property which used to calm skin and soothing skin which is itchy and infected. It also has vitamin A and it strengthens the skin tissue and helps to reduce excess oil from skin. Mint used to treat inflammation such as acne and it also has salicylic acid. This acid is used to loosen up the dead skin cells and shed easier. This help to reduce the clogging pores problem in skin and it results in less acne-prone skin and that leads to clearer skin.

Mint is a natural ingredient and used in every skin related products for skin wellness. Now going back to preparation,

Steps to Follow:

Step 1:
Finally chop mint leaves and using blender blend the leaves into semi-liquid paste by adding rose water to it. Add rose water in desired amount. Don’t add much and it might go liquid.



Step 2:
Transform the mint and rose water paste into a clean bowl. Add 1 to 2 spoons of clay to it and mix it well.





Step 3:
You can transform the clay pack into an air-tight container and store in refrigerator for next 48 hours only. 

Directions:
  1. Wash your face with a face wash or cleanser and dry it off.
  2. Apply the mint clay face pack over face and neck. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes and wash it off.
  3. End with your regular/favorite moisturizer and you are done :)


You can do have this mask thrice a week. The clay helps to reduce the oiliness and mint helps to reduce the acne and remove dead skin cells.
