How to Color Hair Naturally at Home | Henna Hair Color | D.I.Y

Hey Everyone!

Today I’ll be sharing my hair coloring recipe, henna hair color! I’m following this method of coloring for quite few years, say from high school! I never had or did hair coloring using products. I assure you this method is completely safe and good for healthy strong hair. So I recommend this method if you like natural coloring like me!

This is a simple method of coloring at home with easy procedure. So let’s start,

(Before starting the procedure, please read the note)

NOTE:
  • Do this procedure on the 2nd or 3rd after you oiled your hair
  • Don’t apply henna pack on dry hair or just shampooed hair. It might get you into cold or fever
  • Fresh henna leaves should be used to gain rich hair color
  • Don’t try the pack when you have cold or fever
  • The pack on timing should be 2 to 2.5 plus hours. Henna leaves take time to leave color on hair
  • Pack should be applied on oiled hair only

You will need:
  1. Fresh henna leaves - one cup, (depends on the hair volume)
  2. Egg Whites -1 egg
  3. Aroma oil- Optional
  4. Hand gloves
  5. Head band/ wash cloth

Henna leaves Benefits -
Provides cooling effect to hair and scalp
Helps to reduce dandruff flakes and add shine to hair
Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal
Enhance the growth of hair
Repairs hair and makes hair smooth
Helps to cover white hair

Egg White Benefits-
Egg white has 50% of protein in an egg
Egg white pack gives nutritional supplements to hair
Contains fatty acids, that help in improving skin on the scalp
Contains Vitamin A, D, E, B7, B and biotin
Best source of protein for hair

Steps to Follow:

Step 1:
Take fresh henna leaves in a bowl and wash well in the running water. Then add henna leaves to blender and make into a fine paste.

Step 2:
Add 3 to 4 drops of aroma oil to the henna paste and mix it well. Aroma oil pampers you and relieves you from stress.

Now add the egg whites to the henna pack and mix it well. Now the henna hair pack is all ready.

How to Apply:

1. Put on the hand gloves first or you have chances of coloring your fingers first.
2. If it’s your first time, ask your sister/mom/friend to help you to apply the pack.
3. Now use a head band and cover your forehead or you can use a wash cloth to cover your forehead.
4. As I mentioned earlier, you should apply the henna hair pack on 2nd or 3rd day after you oiled your hair. Now part your hair into two equal halves and start applying the henna hair pack from back-end of the hair.

5. Slowly apply the pack from back to front end of the hair. Make sure you apply pack well on the hair roots. Don’t be afraid, the color won’t transfer on the scalp skin.

6. Now make a bun and wrap the hair well like I did on the picture.

7. Leave the henna hair pack for 2 to 2.5 plus hours on.
8. After 2.5 hours, shampoo the hair well with luke warm water. Don’t wash hair with cold or very hot water, it might dry the hair and scalp.

Tada! That’s it. The color stays well for 3 months. In between you can apply henna hair pack once in 21 days if you have white hair or greyhair. This is the best way to color your hair if you don’t like to treat hair with chemicals. I highly recommend this method for all age groups, and for both men and women.
