The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Review

I’m using Nizoral Anti-dandruff shampoo for more than 7 years! Recently I switched to The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and using it for a while from now. Continue reading...

Price: Rs.695 for 250ml

Claims:
  • Flaking clearing, scalp soothing shampoo with refreshing ginger extract
  • For dry/flaky scalp

My Take on the Product:

I like TBS’s plastic bottle packaging so much! It’s simple and you can always keep on checking the amount of product left over after the use. The shampoo is in mild brown color and has light honey like texture with runny consistency. I just love TBS Rainforest Moisture shampoo fragrance a lot, just as opposite TBS Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo has strong gingery fragrance. Well the fragrance stays almost all day on hair.
The shampoo lathers very well and cleans the scalp and hair effectively! It does help clearing flakes from the first wash onwards, and very effective on dandruff. But after using a while I must say it does dry out my scalp and hair crazily! So I cannot/don’t use this shampoo more than once in a week. It rips out all natural oil from my scalp. So I always make sure I oiled my hair well before using this shampoo and deep condition my hair after using the shampoo.
On the plus side the shampoo clears flakes and cleansscalp well. It adds nice shine and glow to my hair and doesn’t weigh down my hair. On continuous usage my dandruff got reduced to some extent.

Pros:
  • Availability
  • Clears flakes and cleans scalp well
  • Lathers well
  • Helps to reduce dandruff
  • Works for all types of hair
  • One bottle may lasts for more than 2 months
  • Best option for severe dandruff problem
  • Doesn’t weigh down hair
  • Not at all harsh on the tresses

Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Strong gingery fragrance
  • Dries the hair
  • Not best for very dry scalp

My Rating: 3.5/5

I would recommend this shampoo to everyone with dandruff problem. With the regular usage it helps to clear out the dandruff but it dries hair much too. So make sure to condition the hair well after every usage.

  14. If you have issues like this, I would suggest you to try Himalaya Anti Dandruff oil and wash it off in the morning. It's a miracle product and damn inexpensive!

  18. I also have dandruff Gowmi but every shampoo I tried made my hair dry. And this one is no exception. My hair is already dry so I cant use any shampoo which further dries out my hair as dry hair hair is a bigger problem than dandruff. I just add few drops of lavender oil to my oil concoction before shampoo and it tremendously helps with dandruff
