Colorbar Indian Eye Kohl/Kajal in Jet Black 001 Review, Swatches and EOTD

Next to Lakme Eyeconic Kajals, Colorbar is my favorite makeup brand for eye makeup products and I love their I-Glide pencils so much! I bought this Colorbar Kajal in Jet Black few weeks ago, I simply love using this kohl on daily basis.

Price: Rs.150 for 4g

My Take on the Product:

Colorbar Kohl comes in silver and black carton packaging. The chubby stick-like packaging gives good grip on application and I find silver lined stick packaging very attractive. The Kohl has buttery smooth texture that glides like a dream on waterline/lash line without any tugging or pulling. The shade is simply black which gives you exact black color you wanted in just 2 swipes. I didn’t experience any irritation on my waterline with the Kohl and it’s best for lash line too. This is my current favorite kohl which is easy-going product on my daily routine.  I use for waterline every single day past two weeks. The product claims to have camphor, vitamin E and castor oil in it, which are the ingredients have  cooling properties helps to gives cooling sensation to eyes.

Colorbar Indian Kohl/kajal isn’t smudge proof or water-proof. Since I use the kohl on daily basis I can the kohl smudges very little on waterline (all kajals does) and in upper lash lines the kohl doesn’t smudge at all. It’s good right! The kohl lasts like 3 hours in waterline and 5 hours on lash lines with little smudging here and there. Since I have a habit of touching my inner corners of eyes always, (contact lenses issues) the kohl smudges quite soon for me. Otherwise it’s perfect. Then the kohl isn’t waterproof so it’s comes off easily with contact of water. Just in swipes you can clean out the kohl with the help of eye makeup remover. So I find it easy, sometimes I’m lazy and its bit tough to removes smudge-proof or water-proof eye makeup products even you use remover and it takes like 5 to 3 minutes to clean the whole eye area! Phew!

Though I like the chubby-stick like packaging, I wish the kohl comes in sleek packaging since there is possibility to break or lose the transparent cap provided. For the price I think they can come up with smudge-proof quality too.

EOTD:

Pros:
  • Attractive packaging
  • Very travel friendly (unless you lose or break the cap)
  • Has buttery smooth texture
  • Glides easily on eyes without tugging/pulling
  • Gives nice intense black color in just 2 swipes
  • Doesn’t sting the eyes
  • Contains camphor, vitamin E and castor oil
  • Stays quite long on lids and waterline
  • Doesn’t smudge very much on waterline or lash lines

Cons:
  • Not smudge-proof and water-proof
  • If the cap is lost or broken then the product is unsafe
  • Runs out soon

Rating: 4/5

I sincerely like this kohl for daily use so much. The buttery texture gives you slightly glossy finish on the eyes which is too good according to me. If you are looking for a good eye kohl/kajal that smudges very little but gives you glossy finish and stays for 5 hours then you should try Colorbar Indian Kohl!
